2008 SheClimbs Event Schedule (thru the end of the year)
Note:
If an outing has to be canceled due to weather conditions, then the automatic backup plan will be to meet at Inner Peaks ( www.innerpeaks.com) in Charlotte that Sunday at noon for a day of gym climbing.
|
Saturday, 9th: North Face of Looking Glass. We will be leading these climbs from the ground and probably setting up some topropes. The climbs are a little more challenging than other areas and start at 5.8 (just look at the ratings for the 1st pitches), but everyone should be in shape by now and ready for the challenge.
Sunday, 24th: WeClimbs outing to Moore's. I'm only available on Sunday, but y'all are welcome to make a weekend out of it.
September
6th-7th: WeClimbs Weekend at Table Rock. Climbs start at 5.4. Table Rock is a great spot for some first leads. I consider most of the climbs to be mixed routes, having a few bolts but also taking gear. The climbs are 1-2 pitches.
October
4th-11th?: Proposed WeClimbs trip the Gunks in New York. If you're interested, let me know ASAP. The Gunks is multi-pitch trad climbing.
Sunday, 19th: Pilot Mountain. Top-roping, sport leads, and mock trad leading.
November
Sunday, 2nd: Rumbling Bald. Top-roping or 1-2 pitch mixed climbs. Climbs start at 5.7.
Sunday, 16th: WeClimbs Day at Stone Mountain. Slab climbing. Climbs start at 5.4.
December
Sunday, 7th: South Face of Looking Glass. We can top-rope or do some 1-2 pitch trad climbs. Climbs start at 5.5.
Feel free to forward the WeClimbs info to any male climbing friends who may be interested.
Even if an outing is not a WeClimbs event, I can probably find male climbing partners for any significant others who would like to tag along. Just make sure to give me some advanced notice.
I'll send out detailed emails closer to each event with meeting times, locations, camping info, etc. If you are thinking of attending, please RSVP to that email so I can help coordinate carpools and so we don't take off down the trail without you.
Hopefully the above gives everyone a little bit of what they were looking for. If not, please email me and let me know your suggestions.
